Mid-level SQL DBA who will work on a production support team for our Digital Asset Management system (DAMs). The DAM is a mission critical system that warehouses corporate digital assets
 
Key Job Responsibilities
Primary support for Microsoft SQL Server Administration
Work with application vendor and users
Administer SQL Server Reporting Services and create/maintain reports
Support SSIS ETL packages and develop new packages as needed
Conduct routine health checks and perform audits for security, storage, tuning, backup and recovery issues
Allocating and planning database storage requirements
Logical and physical database design, test and development
Development of stored procedures and triggers
Maintenance of automated SQL jobs
Support Digital Asset Management (DAM) application and log monitoring
Support application testing, ensuring proper database operation
Level 1 support for Windows Administration and IIS Support
Documentation
On-call support
 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
 
Three years professional experience using SQL Server (2000/2005/2008)
Cooperative and enthusiastic team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience writing SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers
Experience with SSRS
Experience working with SSIS, DTS, and ETL processes
Good Working knowledge of SQL
Experience in performance tuning and database clustering
Familiarity with MySQL
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/MIS or equivalent experience
Familiarity with Windows System Administration, IIS Administration, Active Directory and hardware architecture
Experience in application development a plus (web dev and/or client/server)
Experience using Macs a plus
Experience using TeleScope Digital Asset Management software a plus
Familiarity with networking concepts and load balancing of web traffic a plus

Experience: Five to seven years of directly related, progressively responsible accounting experience are required. Minimum of four years in mid to large size CPA firm required, preferably with one of the Big 4. Minimum three years supervisory experience required. Must be CPA. Extensive reporting experience in not-for-profit environment. Must have Great Plains and FRX reporting experience. Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Must have excellent account analysis/reconciliation skills, being able to prepare complex analysis and reconciliations. Must be a take charge leader who prides on achieving results and meeting deadlines. Must work well under pressure to meet multiple deadlines concurrently and be able to adjust working hours to demands and deadlines. Must be internal controls oriented and pay attention to detail. 

The Assistant Controller is responsible for certain transaction processing activities (e.g. procurement and accounts payable and payroll) and the analysis and accounting for investments, charitable gift annuities and other split interest agreements and other areas requiring strong technical not-for-profit accounting and U. S. GAAP skills. He/she will play a significant leadership role along with other Assistant Controllers, the Controller and CFO in the implementation of such restructuring and in leading the Finance Division. The Assistant Controller responsible for Investments, Split Interest Agreements and 401(k) Retirement Plan plays a most crucial role with all Finance Staff including other Assistant Controllers in terms of reviewing all analyses and journal entries requiring advanced technical accounting and not-for-profit knowledge in order to ensure accurate and timely internal and external reporting, in addition to having such responsibility for all statutory State, Federal and other filings not only for PPFA, but for all PPFA consolidated entities. This position also requires technical knowledge and application of IRS and Federal Election Commission regulations around action funds and political action committees. 

Ensure that all reports are timely and accurately prepared under an adequate system of internal controls; interact with all levels of PPFA staff and management and ensures that the day-to-day as well as special projects are completed in an accurately, timely, customer-friendly, and professional manner; and will help ensure adherence to accounting controls and propose changes to them in policy format to the Controller and CFO as needed and he or she will lead implementation of new pronouncements upon the request of the Controller or CFO. 

Participate in the following special or time sensitive projects within the first 90 days of employment: a) participate and assist in leading Finance’s preparation of the IRS Form 990, for PPFA and its consolidated entities; b) prepare quarterly charitable gift annuity program analyses for presentation to the Investment Sub-Committee and Finance Committee; c) assist in the development of policies regarding reporting and compliance; d) participate and assist in leading the organization in the preparation for the annual external audit of PPFA and its consolidated entities for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011 including providing assistance in the implementation of any new technical pronouncements or changes in developing management estimates, if any; and e) work on ensuring internal controls applicable to the investments and charitable gift annuities and other split interest agreements and procurement areas as per recommendations of the outsourced study are operating effectively.
