Job Description

 seeking an individual who will report to the US Head of Operations and support the development of and transition to the next generation service delivery platform.

 

Initially, this individual will be the manager of the US based Performance Measurement and Analytics Team.  In addition to managing the daily production process and reporting cycles, this position will be responsible for streamlining and enhancing the underlying control processes of this function to dramatically improve timeliness, efficiency and accuracy. 

 

Going forward it is expected this individual will assume a broader management role within the next generation middle office.

 

Background:

Asset Management Group Technology and Operations US is undergoing a significant transformation.  It has transitioned its back office operations functions to a number of internal and external service providers. 

 

The “Next Generation” strategy is to enhance the middle office service delivery platform which includes the following major disciplines:

 

·         Management and delivery of sophisticated services that support the Asset Management business process. 

·         Management and oversight of the service provider network, including day to day partnership with a captive offshore team.

·         Disciplined implementation and integration of new processes to support business growth.

·         Re-engineering of processes to improve efficiency, drive technology requirements, and enable funding of future platform investments.  

·         Partnership with the Asset Management business to gather requirements and execute on strategy.  

 

To deliver on this strategy,  is seeking to enrich the current talent base by adding Director and VP level individuals who offer the following skills and experience:

 

·         10 or more years of experience in the Financial Services Industry

·         Good knowledge of all financial market instruments; how they behave and operate

Securities Project Services is responsible for managing all Change the Bank work across the Debt and Equity operations within IBO.  We have more than 100 team members in seven countries.  The candidate will be responsible for the financial reporting of each of the projects managed by this team.  Specifically:

  • Provide ongoing financial support to CIO, senior managers and all program and project managers globally in SPS.  This includes tracking of actual costs and forecasting.
  • Work with business management to explain all variances between project plans and actual figures and provide assistance with any intra-IBO plan transfers or allocations.
  • Coordinate the annual financial planning process for SPS and manage the ongoing quarterly forecasting (QRM) process.
  • Provide monthly project costs to SPS project managers to facilitate effective cost management of projects.  This includes direct costs and indirect costs from our service providers.  Act as a liaison between project managers and reporting systems to coordinate and amend plans during the planning process and regular forecasting cycles.
  • Provide implementation support for new project governance initiatives such as Project Portfolio Management and Governed Execution.
  • Assist project managers in completing monthly project status reports.
  • Work with IBO central management team to produce client reports.
  • Work with BAC to obtain vendor and P&L reports.
  • Create allocation matrices on a monthly basis to recover provider costs 100% by allocating to correct investment banking divisions.
  • High level of interaction with SPS project managers as well as IT, BAC, HR and IBO central management.
  • Track headcount, new hires into and leavers from SPS.  This includes FTEs as well as contractor and consultant staff.

Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a high performer to join the newly formed Transaction Management Group (TMG) based in London, New York and Hong Kong. TMG is a Middle Office support function for the Global Markets division. It has a Global remit covering all major investment banking products. It has a headcount of over 1,000 team members performing key activities such as Trade Capture, Life Cycle management and T+0 flash PandL.

 

Reporting directly into the Head of TMG Offshore Services, this role is key to the success and growth of the TMG offshore enterprise in India and Manila. The successful candidate will be accountable for actively growing, retaining and nurturing offshore opportunities using relationships with regional customer base. Once projects have been initiated to support the transition life cycle ensuring all migrations are delivered on time, in scope and within budget.

 

This is a high profile role and it is essential that the incumbent is effective at dealing with senior management. That he/she can win commitment to implementing /changing policy or process.

 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

·         Regional onshore (London, NY or Hong Kong) relationship manager for the TMG offshore centre and services. Understand your client’s product, process and structure.

·         Partner your other regional counterparts to proactively expand the relationship through the cross-selling of services

·         Remain accessible to your client base. Provide regular and transparent feedback on project status.

·         Understand the macro concepts influencing change within TMG and offshore arena, such as departmental strategic objectives and/or external regulatory or competitive influence.

·         Educate clients to ensure full understanding of offshore environment. This will include publishing risks/issues, successes and services offered.

·         Conduct, facilitate and arrange activities promoting the offshore investment proposition for TMG.

·         Own and manage project initiation for your region, product or process

·         Partner internal groups to ensure effective and efficient project planning, resourcing and implementation. All project migrations should be delivered on time, in scope and within budget.

·         Host regular project review meetings for your region/product to monitor progress, identify risks, document actions, and assign ownership.

·         Lead from the front to resolve risks or issues.

 

Primary Working Relationships

·       The individual will report to the Head of TMG Offshore Services

·       Build and maintain relationships with the following groups; Product/Regional heads, SOM PMO, Legal, Tax, Technology, Human Resources, Ops Risk, and offshore Vendors / Captive Management.

 

Job Requirements

·      Prior related industry experience preferably in an Investment Banking capacity.

·      Self starter with an entrepreneurial spirit. The ability to work independently or in a team, sometimes on a remote basis across functional and regional silos to deliver objectives.

·      Experience of managing client relationships would be valuable

·      Experience of outsourcing transitions or change management projects is preferred.

·      Candidates with operational background coupled with experience of continuous improvement initiatives are encouraged to apply
