Description:
Lead Software Architect needed to design and architect a Java based reference Service Oriented Architecture. This is a key position that will lead a growing effort to establish SOA across all our geographically diverse teams. You will be hands-on working across teams to define service requirements and establish best practices and patterns. You must have an entrepreneurial spirit, thrive on challenges and have superior communication skills.
Required Experience
- Senior level professional with 5+ years of significant software development experience: leading small teams would be a plus.
- Strong software design skills: database modeling skills a plus.
- Must have delivered production level code (Java or C/C++) in a commercial environment.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems.
- Broad experience in development technologies (e.g. Spring, JDBC, Maven).
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- BS in Computer Science (MS preferred).
Essential Functions:
- Lead the architecture, design and development of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to ensure that services are testable, maintainable, and scalable.
- Provide leadership for the team and be a central point of contact for technical questions and recommendations.
- Develop and code proof of concept services (Java).
- Work with your teammates to establish standards and best practices.
- Mentor and teach more junior developers and ensure team collaboration.
