The WebSphere Portal Engineer is responsible for ongoing maintenance/support of the Portal infrastructure including the production internet and intranet sites. This includes performing regularly scheduled maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting problems and performance tuning, addressing security issues, and developing/implementing standards, policies, and procedures. It also includes installing new web applications and upgrading vendor software releases. They will be responsible for identifying and resolving problems using structured troubleshooting methods, techniques, and tools; this will require close coordination with other departments within Systems and with external vendors during problem analysis/resolution.
Technical Experience;
· IBM WebSphere Portal v6 & v7 & Application Serverv6 & v7; performance, tuning and debugging of all software issues
• IBM WebSphere Portal installation, upgrade releases, support developers
· Troubleshooting, developing, deploying and supporting the applications on WebSphere Portal
• Knowledge of general internetworking concepts
• TCP/IP
• UNIX, Microsoft Windows 2003 and Linux
• Load Balancers (F5 Local Traffic Managers)
• IIS, Andrews File System, SiteScope, IBM Lotus Connections v2/5 & v3.0.
Knowledge/Skillset:
• Must have strong verbal communication skills
· College degree preferred; 4+ years corporate experience with WebSphere Portal Infrastructure
• Non developers/infrastructure minded

Demonstrated ability to manage a project through its full life cycle
Demonstrated ability to manage a team as well as interface with clients and manage/develop client relationships. Responsible for production and development efforts involving support of security master, market data vendor feeds, pricing systems, and risk management systems supporting the fixed income investment process. Work closely with members of the Analytics/Risk Management, SMF, and Pricing groups.

This individual will help create strategic partnerships to the Analytics and Risk Management business unit. Will provide in-depth analysis of user needs and contribute toward application design efforts for proprietary applications. Identifies complex business requirements, evaluates alternative solutions and translates solutions into specifications suitable for the development or maintenance of business specific systems. Coordinates development teams on large and/or complex projects. Develops and implements test plans. .
Competencies:
§ Must have direct experience in the Financial Services industry, specifically experience working with market data feeds in the Fixed Income arena.
§ Must have Fixed Income systems and software development experience.
§ Some experience working with market data vendors such as Bloomberg, FTID, Lehman, etc.
§ 5+ years of software development experience including knowledge of systems development concepts including underlying technologies, database and application design and system architecture3+ years of involvement with fixed income investment practices
§ 3+ years experience in the design, testing of financial or fixed income market data or vendor applications
§ 2+ years of project management and organizational skills with ability to both lead and participate in cross-organizational teams; ability to initiate, track, and follow through on multiple ongoing projects
§ Knowledge of systems development concepts including underlying technologies, database and application design and system architecture
§ Demonstrated ability to manage a project through it's full life cycle
§ Demonstrated ability to manage a team
§ Demonstrated ability to interface with clients and manage/develop client relationships
§ Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage assigned project responsibilities with limited supervision
§ Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
§ Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building skills
BS degree in Finance, Mathematics or Computer Science
Graduate degree in Mathematics/Computer Science desirable.
