Qualifications & Skills:
* 3-5 years of hands-on network development experience on an advanced network.
* Significant hands-on experience with large L3/L2 network design and development.
* Significant hands-on experience with IOS, JunOS, NX-OS and hardware.
* Significant knowledge of routing and switching concepts and technology.
* Significant hands-on knowledge and experience with BGP, OSPF, IGMP, PIM & RSTP/MSTP.
* Significant knowledge of MPBGP, MPLS, VPLS, BGP/MPLS IPVPN, LACP.
* Excellent and rapid network troubleshooting and repair skills.
* Significant documentation skills. Mostly Visio schematics.
* Strong communication skills and experience working collaboratively with NOCs, systems software developers and administrators.
* Good knowledge and experience with network security.
* Good knowledge and experience with L4-L7 services such as load balancers.
* Good knowledge of QoS and queueing theory.
* Good knowledge of advanced networking trends.
* Significant progamming experience with Perl.
* Very good knowledge and experience with network management apps such as: Openview, Smarts or other major products.
* Very good experience with all areas of network management (FCAPS).
* Good knowledge and experience with SNMP & RADIUS.
* Holistic perspective and approach to network design and development.
* Strong unix knowledge and experience (Solaris, Linux mostly).
* Strong sense of organization and obsessive attention to detail.
* Self starter, independent worker and enthusiastic team player.
* Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
* Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
* Responsible, reliable and flexible.
* Professional and ethical conduct.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Rapid troubleshooting and repair of network related issues.
* Maintain the high availability and performance of the data center networks.
* Assist with design, develop, and deploy appropriate network solutions as requested.
* Assist with identifying, testing and developing new network technologies collaboratively that increase value for the business.
* Proactively identify technology gaps and develop and implement appropriate solutions collaboratively.
* Proactively ensure that data center networks operate optimally. Requires tracking everything from bandwidth and cpu to licenses and processes.
* Work closely with data center, systems and other groups on business projects, assignments, problems, etc. Maintain excellent relationships.
* Create formal guidelines, policies and procedures related to ensuring the smooth and error-free operations of the data center networks.
* Ensure network and processes conform to approved standards.
* Stay familiar with the relevant current and future technologies and trends.
* Maintain daily work log and provide clear and regular project updates using the reporting systems.
* Create and maintain clear and accurate network documentation.

The Core Network Design and Development group is seeking a talented and dynamic individual with strong software programming skills and uncommon network development experiences to fill a position in the business solutions area.
Responsibilities:
* Develop sophisticated fault, configuration, accounting, performance and security management server software.
* Develop high-class user interfaces for monitoring and management of the network.
* Perform various operational and project-related work on the network (install, configure, upgrade, etc) and associated documentation.
* Proactively identify technology gaps and develop and implement appropriate solutions.
* Collaboratively design, develop, and deploy appropriate network solutions.
* Collaboratively identify, test and develop new network technologies.
* Stay familiar with relevant current and future technologies and trends.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
* Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and Ethernet switching technologies.
* Strong knowledge of application protocols (DNS, SSH, HTTP, SSL, FTP etc.) and their behaviors across LAN/WAN infrastructures.
* At least 3 years of recent C/C++ programming in a UNIX environment.
* Significant recent Perl/PHP and JavaScript programming experience.
* Experience with multi-threaded programming.
* Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms.
* Working knowledge of development tools such as debuggers, code repositories.
* Experience with managing medium to large scale projects from requirements gathering to rollout.
* Ability to estimate, plan, lead and execute complex technical projects.
Highly Desirable Qualifications
* Strong fundamental knowledge with MPBGP, MPLS, BGP/MPLS IPVPN.
* Very good knowledge and experience with network management applications such as: Openview, Smarts or other major products.
* Good experience with all areas of network management (FCAPS).
* Good knowledge and experience with SNMP & RADIUS.
General Qualifications:
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
