Job Description:	Job Description:  We are seeking a Project Lead/Lead Analyst who will be responsible for delivery of projects including the corresponding disciplines associated with project planning, risk and issue identification, stakeholder and resource management, project change control, documentation, tracking and reporting (weekly and monthly). You will also be responsible for managing a project from requirements all the way through post-implementation and/or project closure, as applicable. Project leader responsibilities require an individual to be delivery-focused and hands-on. Additional responsibilities include: Attending regular department meetings to ensure smooth cooperation within unit and carrying out ad-hoc tasks delegated by senior managers. Job Title:		IT – Project Lead/STP Settlements Technologies

 

Job Descriptions:

Individual will be responsible for leading STP/Settlements related technology initiatives for Investment Support Trade Processing and Settlements function while managing day to day actives of a small team of developers and business analysts.   Will manage SWIFT/FIX protocols and messaging components while facilitating the integration of business mechanics in an effort to support investment management trade execution in a fast paced technology environment.  The individual in this position will be responsible for recommending strategic and tactical changes in work flows considering the integration of both third party vendor solutions and proprietary systems pertaining to middle and back office support departments.  Regularly meets with the end user to review overall effectiveness and tackle problems related to STP functionality.

Specifications:

 

§         Knowledge of all phases of STP/Settlements  systems development, rapid application development methodology required

§         Microsoft Windows NT, word processing and spreadsheet applications required

§         SOA architecture, and GUI development concepts required

§          Knowledge of relational database environment, SQL/Oracle required

§         Knowledge of JAVA IIS, ASP concepts/architecture preferred

Requires minimum ten years of related work experience

Responsibilities/Duties:

§         Work with business units supported to translate client needs into operational imperatives by taking scope of the project, creating project plans areas such as: IT testing and product acceptance, new business operating models with innovative approaches to IT solutions support, research of emerging or available product functionality, and operational readiness assessments

§         Manage staff activates while working directly with clients within the organization and with outside parties to develop and implement project plans and identify operational business requirements with sufficient detail and clarity to allow IT solution development

§         Manages cross-functional task forces to identify and document functional requirements, work flow, information sources and distribution paths, and system specifications

§         Manages end user analysis and produces and maintains documentation including open items log, system requirements, systems design and testing plans

§         Accountable for providing leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating and conducting information gathering structured documentation and presentation of findings

§         Provide guidance and direction related to the evaluation of existing application products as well as identify and implement innovative solutions related to system improvements and enhancements

 

Competencies:

§         Proven effectiveness w/ STP systems development at both the strategic and hands on project management level (player coach capability) or implementation with progressively more complex responsibilities in an investment management client focused environment

§         Strong understanding of, or experience in, a fixed income management company or middle/back office environment required

§         Working knowledge or experience with STP concepts and related Settlements technologies  preferred

§         Has a high degree of knowledge in asset management principles, settlements and allocations processes for complex fixed income instruments

§         Clearly understands purposes, objectives, practices and procedures of the Trade Processing, Settlements, and Fund Accounting departments and related business units

§         Demonstrated excellence in developing and implementing highly effective technology solutions focused on delivering swift, accurate analysis, documentation and presentation tools 

§         Maintains a solid knowledge of corporate and departmental information system strategies

§         Has advanced written and oral communication skills to make technical or non-technical material understandable to the business units and to conduct meetings or training sessions

 

 

Academic Qualifications (minimum requirements):

College degree in Information Systems, related discipline highly desired or equivalent.
