$130-$150k plus 15% bonus

New York City- Wall Street

 

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the successful operation and delivery of services related to  Some of the daily duties would be: Allocate tasks, supervise and train local and remote operations staff Create standard reports required for delivery to clients Assist in the implementation of new  clients Provide end of month/quarter support to clients Analyze standard trade confirms, book hedged and hedging items into system. Define hedge designations and run effectiveness, risk and MTM reports.   An excellent candidate will possess: Finance, economics or related degree and strong mathematical skills Derivatives knowledge and or finance/accounting background with emphasis on economic and accounting hedges (FAS  133/IAS 39/CICA 3865) Derivative Operations background. Supervisory and training skills Strong Excel skills Documentation skills The desire to work in an intense, committed start-up environment with a talented team

Planning and Analysis

 

Job Description

• Independently prepare complex analysis and present findings to management.
• Conducts and documents moderate to complex financial analysis projects.  Communicate projects opportunities and constraints to management while monitoring project status.
• Responsible for the coordination and compilation of the annual forecasting process by working closely with senior management for consolidation of information
• Assist with the annual planning process.  Entails compilation of Full Year and calendarized plan, inclusive of Balance sheet, Reinsurance detail, P&L Statement and Underwriting Expenses.
• Populate calendarized plan by line of business and location to Great Plains General Ledger.
• Responsible for the population of Legal Entity and Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Full Year and Calendarized Plan template.
• Coordinate and consolidate the current year rolling forecast.   Includes YTD actual and budgeted information for remainder of the year.  Provide explanation for variances to plan.
• Identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to processes, controls and technology systems related to functions being performed.  Develop and implement recommended improvements after management approval.
• Prepare analyses reports such as cash flow projections, trend analysis, broker reports, hit ratios and claim activity reports on a monthly and quarterly basis for senior management with complete documentation of findings.
• Actively involved with month-end close activities.  Complete analysis of Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash flow will be required.
• Prepare and reconcile Roll forwards Reports, Contingent Commissions, Significant Losses and LAE paid and associated Recoverables on a monthly basis.
• Prepare Monthly narrative of insurance activity, Underwriting expenses, Cash Flow from Operations with detailed explanation of variances to plan and prior year.

 

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.  Pursuit of a Masters Degree is preferred.  Requires a minimum of 3-5 years financial/analytical experience. 
• Knowledge of GAAP & STAT accounting principles, Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial Analysis
• Quick learner and ability to drive successful results with limited supervision
• Great attention to detail
• Knowledge of Great Plains General Ledger, FRX Reporting and Hyperion a plus
• Strong Access Knowledge is very essential

About the Accounting team:

The Accounting team is responsible for providing all accounting functions and preparation of financial statements, partner allocation P&L flow, assure fund operation is within the guidelines of offering document, provide comments on offering documents, provide assistance and guidance on accounting standards and best practices.  Our teams consist of highly skilled Chartered Accountants, MBA’s, and CFA’s who are trained to provide highly accurate, timely and efficient services, ensuring 100% accuracy and providing world class customer service.

 

Description:

·         Daily/Weekly/Monthly Net Asset Value preparation, which includes:

o        Cash and Portfolio Reconciliations exposed to futures, forwards, options, fixed income, equities

o        Income and Expense Accruals

o        Daily analysis of traders P&L

·         Evaluate confirms and trades for settlements                   .

·         Partner/Shareholder Allocation calculations, including incentive and management calculations

·         Verify month end market prices for all open positions

·         Financial Statement preparation

·         Other Ad Hoc Reports as needed

 

Qualifications required:

·         3+ years of fund accounting experience in a Hedge Fund, Hedge Fund Administrator, Mutual Fund or other financial institution where the accountant has gained financial products knowledge.

·         Familiar with various methods for the calculation of incentive and management fees.

·         Working knowledge of Excel and Word.

·         Good communication skills - Discussions with clients, custodians and prime brokers to resolve trading, operational and accounting issues Financial Statement Preparation and Public Accounting experience is a plus.

·         BA in Accounting or Finance a MUST

·         CFA Qualification a plus
