Description:   

Lead data warehouse developer specific to MicroStrategy, Bus Objects, Cognos.

 

Responsible for the design, development, testing, and support of

various systems and their corresponding interfaces to other in house systems.

 

Expert for designated technical areas such as programming languages,

operating systems, databases and/or packaged systems.

 

Leads Implementation efforts - recommends technical solutions to

business issues and/or system issues. Makes technical recommendations for more

efficient troubleshooting and issue resolutions.

 

 

Acts as code reviewer for other application developers’ output to enforce accepted programming standards and techniques.  Provides assistance and routine consultation

to internal business users of applications.

 

Works with cross functional team members to develop system and software designs

 

Works with Project Manager and Quality Assurance representative to estimate new system issue resolution or package implementation efforts.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

·         Business Intelligence  (MicroStrategy, Bus Obj, Cognos)

·         Oracle 10g, 11g

·         Relational or BI Modeling

·         Data Warehouse Appliances (Netezza or Teradata)

·         PL / SQL programming and UNIX shell scripting

·         Job scheduling tools (Tidal, Control-M)

·         Logical/Physical database modeling (ERStudio, Erwin )

·         ETL data processing

 

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

 

Experience: 7+ years experience developing commercial grade applications with large scale deployments.

Strong experience in current software engineering and solution delivery methodologies.

Knowledge of any of the following technologies is a bonus: C#. Net, Visual Studio Dev Tool, Biztalk.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree

• At least 2 years of experience with Warehouse Management or Distribution Systems REQUIRED DO NOT APPLY WITHOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

• At least 2 years of experience performing Quality Analysis and Testing

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, Power Point

 

PLUSSES

• Knowledge of IBM System i (AS/400) platform and DB2i concepts

• Knowledge of Web Applications, GUI Navigation

• Knowledge of SQL or any other data query language

• Knowledge of any testing tools like QC or QTP

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Review and analyze Functional Analysis Design documents (FAD) to validate for clarity, correctness and user flow

• Write test cases against the functionality described in the FAD

• Participate in software requirements gathering sessions

• Work with developers to understand technical design changes and update the test scripts

• Execute test plans when software is delivered (this includes standards, new user, functional and interface testing.

• Provide well written, step by step documentation with screen shots when logging issues

• Assist with go live and post go live support (issue validation – liaison between operations and development staff on bugs found in production)

• Track and Maintain failed tests cases for retesting

• Perform regression testing after any major coding changes are installed

• Provide assistance with maintaining the user manuals (if needed)

• Ability to travel to our warehouse locations for assisting with go lives, as required (up to 25%).
